Principal Investigator
Professor WANG John
Professor Wang leads the Advanced Ceramics Laboratory in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Ceramics from the University of Leeds, awarded in 1987, and serves as Director of the NUS Research Institute in Chongqing since 2023. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore, a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining in the United Kingdom, and an Academician of the Asia Pacific Academy of Materials. Clarivate names him a Highly Cited Researcher in Materials Science in 2021, 2022 and 2023, and in the Cross-Field category in 2020.

His research focuses on the design and electrochemical mechanisms of carbon-based anodes for alkali-ion batteries. He has published over 43 peer-reviewed papers, including first-author works in JACS, Advanced Materials, EES, AEM, and AFM, and has received two National Scholarships, the Baosteel Scholarship, and university-level honors.
